  The three-screen challenge

Content, technology and new users in the multi-platform digital TV era.

Barcelona, 13 July 2007.- On 20 September 2007, the city Barcelona will be hosting the NEXT#1 international conference, organized by the Local Audiovisual Network known as Xarxa Audiovisual Local (XAL), a publicly owned company promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council.

Under the title, The three-screen challenge. Content, technology and new users in the multi-platform digital TV era, NEXT#1 will be targeting audiovisual sector professionals and managers who are interested in hearing first hand the experiences of world-wide leaders in the realm of multi-platform digital television.

At a time marked by the growing implementation of the triple screen (TV, internet and the mobile phone), and to help us understand and face the future of the audiovisual media and particularly of television, NEXT#1 will be analysing how multi-platform distribution is affecting viewers, television stations, telecommunications networks and audience assessment.

The conference envisages six thematic sessions, in the form of case analyses (keynote speakers) and round-table discussions (panels), featuring speakers who will be heard for the first time in our country. One such speaker is David Neuman, the President of Programming for Current TV (USA), a company owned by former US Vice President Al Gore. Thus there is no doubt that NEXT#1 will be the audiovisual sector’s most important event this autumn.
