ISRAEL VELA PEÑA

Born in Madrid in 1974. Qualified in telecommunications engineering, specialising in sound and image. He has extensive specific training in the areas of I.T. and audio-visual integration. Between 1998 and 2004 he worked in different areas of the company Vitelsa, where he was head of engineering and information systems administrator at the Barcelona branch. He has taken part in numerous projects. Highlights among these include setting up the City TV channel (2001), installing and starting up different playout channels at Cable i Televisió de Catalunya (2001) and installing ORAD virtual sets at TVC (2003)

As director of Technology at the XAL, Israel Vela is responsible for designing, implementing and operating the technical systems and equipment used by XTVL, lamalla.cat and the XAL's other departments. He also coordinates the areas of Continuity, Maintenance and Systems. Since November 2007 he has supervised coordination between the technical departments at COMRàdio and the XAL, as well as the technical departments of the television organisations associated with XTVL.
