CARLOS TORREIRO GÓMEZ

Born in Montevideo (Uruguay) in 1960. Graduate in journalism. His professional experience has always been linked to the audio-visual broadcast media. Between 2000 and 2004 he held the position of general coordinator and director at Radiotelevisió de l’Hospitalet (l’Hospitalet de Llobregat). He had previously worked at RNE as a news sub-editor, at Ràdio Barcelona (SER), at Antena 3 TV in Catalonia as news director, and at TVE in Sant Cugat as head of politics, society and culture.

As news director at XTVL, Carlos Torreiro sets the organisational guidelines for the XN news agency and supervises coordination with the news services of the associated local television stations. Since November 2007 he has also been coordinating the news services of COMRàdio and lamalla.cat.
